Safety management & human factors
Keeping safety at the heart of what you do
Since becoming a Public/Private Partnership and operating in the commercial sector, we have built on our already exceptional safety record. We have an extensive range of advanced and proven safety systems designed to work seamlessly with new technology, both in the air and on the ground.
By choosing to consult with us on safety management you will benefit from our in-depth expertise and experience. This extends to our knowledge of the human factors that need to be considered with any change in working practices – and the effects they can have on safety.
It is crucial to take people into account when it comes to any changes in your business. From understanding how humans interact with technology, how change affects operators, to measuring the effectiveness of training programmes, we can give you the reassurance that safety is never compromised.
NATS has one of the most respected and experienced Human Factors teams in the world, comprising around 25 specialists including fully trained psychologists and engineers who work with air traffic controllers to get the best performance whilst ensuring the highest level of safety. The team is involved in every project NATS works on, and are constantly researching into new ways to ensure optimum safety and efficiency in human performance through the use of specialist technology and training.
We are keen to share this knowledge and experience with air navigation service providers and other businesses worldwide. The NATS Human Factors team recently delivered a well-received course to members of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), a course that has since been accredited.
