Launch of CEO’s charity of the year

In summer 2011, Richard Deakin, Chief Executive Officer met with Aerobility Chief Executive Officer Mike Miller- Smith to find out more about the work of the charity. Blown away by Aerobility’s work and commitment to provide people with disabilities the opportunity to learn to fly, Richard decided to nominate Aerobility as his charity of the year.

Under the banner of ‘Acting Responsibly’, NATS launched a CEO’s charity of year challenge in September 2011, with a fundraising target of £100,000 to purchase a specially adapted aircraft for the charity. Employees were invited to get involved and were challenged to ‘Do something BIG’ to support the fundraising efforts.
