Swanwick Air Traffic Control Centre set themselves a challenging unit fundraising target of £20,000, and kicked off their fundraising with a Valentines Fayre. Our Prestwick Centre and Corporate & Technical Centre were also busy hosting fundraisers, including a Christmas Party and Fayre, live music events, auctions and extreme endurance challenges including the BIG Pool, a sponsored aqua challenge which saw a team of six controllers from Prestwick swimming five miles each, raising over £3,000 for Aerobility.
Colleagues from NATS also sponsored an executive box at Harlequins Rugby Club. Harlequins nominated Aerobility their charity of the match, which together with an auction of a club shirt and ball, raised almost £4,000.
A team of footballers from NATS Corporate & Technical Centre swapped the pitch for the moors when they took part in the Exmoor Extreme Endurance Event. The challenge involved a 28.5 mile hike over Exmoor, in gale force winds, torrential rain and driving sleet.
NATS also launched the BIG Surf initiative which sees a portion of internet referral fees generated each time the search box is used and the money is donated to Aerobility. Over the year the scheme generated around £1000 towards the fundraising target.
