August traffic figures show 0.8% decrease on previous year

Figures released from NATS, the UK’s leading air traffic control provider, show that traffic in August 2010 declined 0.8% compared to the same month last year.

All markets declined during the month except Oceanic Area Control, responsible for flights over the eastern half of the North Atlantic, which increased by 1.2% from 37,404 to 36,961.  London Area Control recorded its one millionth flight on 2nd August compared to July 21 last year.
