BA Operations Director joins NATS’ Board

09 April 2009

Andy Lord has been appointed to the Board of NATS Holdings Ltd as a non-executive director.

He was chosen by the Airline Group, a consortium of seven airlines which together hold a 42 per cent share in NATS, the UK’s leading air traffic services company.

Andy has been with BA for 20 years and joins after Neil Mills stepped down as a result of resigning from easyJet, where he was procurement director.

He came to BA as an engineering student and is still the only non-flying Chief Pilot in the company’s history. As Operations Director, he oversees performance, safety and compliance.

NATS Chairman John Devaney said: “I am delighted to welcome Andy. He has a wealth of relevant experience at BA and will be a great asset to the Board. He has been working closely with NATS for many years and is familiar with our ATC operations.”

The Airline Group consortium includes British Airways, bmi British Midland, Virgin Atlantic, Thomsonfly, Monarch, easyJet and My Travel.
