NATS dough-nate £6k to Macmillan

17 October 2018

NATS, the UK air traffic management service, raised over £6,000 last month by taking part in Macmillan’s annual ‘Coffee Morning’ – donating enough to fund a cancer support nurse for 188 hours.

Thousands of raffle tickets were sold and 1,400 portions of cake were eaten by hungry employees throughout the day at NATS’ centres in Swanwick, Whiteley and Prestwick.

Macmillan Cancer Support helps people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional care, and its ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ event is supported by thousands of businesses across the nation each year. People are invited to donate money in exchange for cake, a cup of tea and a chat.

Vicki Smith, Facilities Manager, Corporate Services, said: “All of us know someone who has been directly or indirectly affected by cancer and, without cancer charities such as Macmillan, families would not have the support and guidance they need.

“I am really overwhelmed that this year NATS has raised such a substantial amount of money for this worthwhile charity. I would like to thank everyone that helped and supported our coffee mornings – it was a fun event for a great cause.”

Raffle prizes, kindly donated by NATS suppliers, included an iPad, Strictly Come Dancing Live tickets, Flybe flights and a spa break voucher.
