London Airspace Management Programme Simulations

10 June 2014

The London Airspace Management Programme (LAMP) reached a major milestone with the successful completion of a series of simulations to validate the proposed changes supporting Gatwick and London City that were subject to the London Airspace Consultation over the winter. The feedback from the consultation has informed the simulated designs.

news_Swanwick_2012_43Involving over 100 participants and some 33 control positions these were the biggest simulations that NATS has ever staged at our Corporate and Technical Centre simulation facilities. The outcomes of the ATC simulations will be validated with key customers through workshops, trials and flight simulations.

The London Airspace Management Programme will completely redesign the London Terminal Airspace based on Performance Based Navigation and will be implemented in phases between 2015 and 2019.
