RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System) app

We are working on the creation of an online app, accessible from a range of devices, with the aspiration to facilitate and inform RPAS pilots’ flight planning process and simplify the information sharing process between airspace users, ATM and RPAS pilots.

RPAS is a rapidly growing emergent class of airspace users. The air vehicles are enabling new industries and delivering cost savings in established industries. NATS wants to support and facilitate the safe growth and integration of RPAS with other airspace users. We hope the app will increase the situational awareness of RPAS operators and improve safety by helping to prevent unintentional infringements of controlled airspace by RPAS.

Target launch date: 2016.

NATS are leading the work to develop this app.
