The instrumented Landing System is a ground-based navigational aid that provides precision guidance to an aircraft as it approaches and lands on a runway.
This course describes the Architecture and functionality of the ILS and how engineers can remotely monitor the system for serviceability.
The engineer will be given the opportunity to carry out periodic maintenance, fault diagnosis and the replacement of faulty units.
They will also gain experience in setting to work the system and restoring it to operational service.
