Resilience, Sustainability and Integration: NATS at CANSO Airspace World 2025

30 April 2025

Creating a more sustainable aviation industry, delivering two world firsts in arrivals management, and deploying a truly integrated airspace headline the leading innovations being showcased by NATS at CANSO Airspace World in Lisbon on 13-15 May.

On stand H1560, NATS will be demonstrating how its combination of operational expertise, close collaborations and leading technologies is helping airports and air navigation service provides (ANSPs) around the world to deliver airport capacity, improve operational resilience, and enhance environmental performance.

  • Already the world’s only Time Based Separation arrivals tool, NATS and Leidos have delivered two more firsts with Intelligent Approach – the roll-out of Pairwise separation for Heathrow to further enhance operational resilience, and its deployment at a single runway, mixed mode operation at Gatwick Airport. The Pairwise project has been shortlisted in the ATM Awards in the ‘Building a Resilient ATM Framework for the Future’ category.
  • How to deliver a truly integrated airspace that allows drone and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) operators to scale and commercialise their operations will be the focus of NATS ‘Master Control Room’ solution. The team will show how drones and other new airspace users can be seamlessly and safely integrated into controlled airspace, and the tools and technologies that make that possible. NATS will also unveil a whitepaper laying out the steps needed to scale AMM operations in the UK and around the world.
  • Green Aviation Insights (GAIN) is the first global benchmarking, reporting and collaboration data platform that helps ANSPs collectively take action to decrease emissions in the airspace they manage. Four leading ANSPs have already signed up as founding members, using GAIN to understand the efficiency of their airspace, identify opportunities for improvement, measure outcomes and benefit from shared experience and expertise of peers. Find out more about this pioneering initiative. GAIN has been shortlisted in the ATM Awards in the ‘Collaboration and Community’ category.
  • Together with Searidge Technologies, NATS will be showcasing the latest thinking in airport digitisation, including their newest product, Intelligent Stand Manager. Winner of the Data Breakthrough Award for ‘Solution of the Year for Transportation,’ Intelligent Stand Manager allows airports to transition from inflexible, static plans to proactive, automated stand allocation to improve turnaround performance, streamline their operations and increase operational resilience.
