Under the same sky

Brilliantly different, under the same sky

Under the same sky

At NATS we celebrate the diversity of our colleagues. We thrive because we are all brilliantly different yet united in our passion to advance aviation and keep the skies safe.

We want to be inclusive, respectful, and diverse. We are listening, learning, and paying attention to the world. Colleagues help guide our actions and we are all taking positive steps so everyone can be themselves and succeed.

Life at NATS

We are one committed team, passionate about aviation

We value our colleagues and support each other to be the best we can be, working collaboratively with integrity and respect.

Whoever you are, whatever you want to do, we will help you make the most of your potential – and build an exceptional career.

Health & Wellbeing

The wellbeing of our workforce is important to us and as such we provide a wide range of resources and programmes to keep their health and wealth in great shape, including access to an Employee Assistance Programme, peer support, and sports and social clubs.

We have also adopted agile working to give our non-operational teams greater flexibility.

Supporting communities

We support our employees in making a positive contribution to the communities near our sites, awarding grants to those who are actively involved in charity and community groups and offering ways for employees to donate money to their chosen causes.

We also work closely with two charities, Aerobility and the Jon Egging Trust, and actively promote STEM subjects to school-aged children through our educational outreach programmes.

Recruitment

Individuals who bring different perspectives, skills, life experiences and backgrounds help us be at the forefront of our industry. If you share our passion to advance aviation and keep the skies safe – we would like to hear from you whatever your age, sex, race, faith, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, visible or invisible disability.

Employee networks are helping our workforce connect, share and shape an inclusive environment

Our Employee Networks

Our employee networks are helping our workforce connect, share and shape an inclusive environment. They are run by colleagues who are united in their passion to grow both personally and professionally; creating a safe culture for all while helping to define our vision for the future of aviation.

We currently have six Employee Networks:

Disability Network provides a forum for employees with an interest in equality and inclusion at work, for those affected by impairments and disabilities.

Faith Network logo

Faith Network is a group for networking, peer support, encouragement and education and provides colleagues and the organisation with advice, guidance and expertise on Faith and Inter-Faith matters and policy and accommodations like Faith Rooms. In 2023, NATS celebrated its #2 Faith-Friendly Company ranking in the UK by the REDI (Religious Equity Diversity & Inclusion) Index benchmark assessment..

globeAll network

globeAll represents ethnic and cultural minority employees with the aim of providing networking opportunities within the community and a space to celebrate our cultural heritage and differences.

SkyPride

SkyPride provides a forum for networking and peer support between LGBTQ+ colleagues, raises the visibility of the LGBTQ+ community, and provides the organisation with advice, guidance and expertise on LGBTQ+ matters and policy.

Women’s Network inspires and supports women to fulfil their potential. The network acknowledges gender issues and aims to create awareness to improve the working environment and achieve a supportive culture.

Young Professionals network

Young Professionals Network empowers and supports the next generation of the NATS workforce, providing peer to peer networking and guidance.

All of our Employee Networks have allies, that is, people who may not identify as part of the network, but who nonetheless actively support the network’s aims and objectives. There are also support groups available, such as the Carers Network and Parents Network, where our people can share their own experiences.

Martin Rolfe

NATS Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

We are proud to have a forward-thinking and, rightly, ambitious Diversity & Inclusion vision, which states the type of organisation we want to be. It shows our commitment and gives us direction in an ever-changing world, so we can continue to attract and provide a fulfilling place to work for the best and the brightest people.

The most valuable aspect of our commitment to diversity comes from creating an inclusive, safe and enjoyable place to work for all of us. Recognising, understanding and valuing the differences we all bring to the workplace will make NATS an even better company, in many ways.

No matter who you are, if you can do the job, you are welcome, and we want you to thrive.

Our partners

We're proud to be working with the following organisations:

Women of NATS 23

In our annual "Women of NATS" live event we spoke to a number of women from across the organisation about their experiences in the industry, their journeys into NATS and what their roles entail.

We recorded the session so you can watch it on demand here.  We hope you find it interesting and insightful.
