While aviation delivers strong economic and social benefits to the UK and beyond, it also has a clear impact on the environment; we see it as our responsibility to help drive, deliver and maintain a sustainable future for the industry.
Reducing aviation's environmental impact and saving fuel is important to us and our customers. As part of our environmental strategy, we are implementing smarter and more responsive ways to do this.
Recognition for our climate targets
Our promise is to be a net zero emissions company by 2035 and to play our part in helping the aviation industry reach net zero by 2050. We have already reduced our emissions by 37% since 2018 and our environmental strategy commits to further robust targets, improving our emissions performance both in how we run our business and in how we manage UK airspace.
Financial Times-Statista
We have been named for the fourth year running and received the highest score in the survey of two thousand companies across Europe compiled by the Financial Times and Statista.
This special report identifies companies that have made the most progress in cutting their greenhouse gas emissions intensity.
Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) awarded NATS with ‘Business Ambition’ status – the highest achievement possible.
This demonstrates NATS emissions targets exceed requirements to help prevent the most damaging effects of climate change and consistent with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
Since 2008 we have reported against our commitment to driving sustainable aviation in the UK. Links to our previous four annual reports are provided below. You can view all reports and environment related documents in our online library.
